Florida, Florida State, and Miami have now each lost two games in a row, making it an ugly stretch of weekends for three proud programs.
For the first time ever, Florida’s Big 3 went 0-6 across 2 weekends. How about 0-9?
Let’s just say it ain’t good in the ol’ Sunshine State.

And would ya look at this.
From 1954 through 2017, Florida, Florida, and Miami avoided going 0-3 against the first Major College (FBS or historical equivalent, as defined by the NCAA) teams each of them faced. That even counts 1954, when FSU wasn’t yet considered Major College — a distinction they earned in 1955.
It’s hard to figure out which Florida team is in the worst spot this year, but the leader is probably Florida State, which is in serious jeopardy of seeing its bowl streak come to an end.
The biggest problem with each team is behind center. Nobody knows what Miami’s doing with its QB situation, Florida benched Feleipe Franks during the Missouri game, and Deondre Francois remains day-to-day for the Noles.
Florida looked like an actual good team at the midway point in the season with FSU a total mess and Miami’s quarterback situation in flux all year. The Gators certainly came down to earth after getting beaten by Georgia and then drubbed by Missouri.
Florida plays South Carolina, Florida State goes to Notre Dame, and Miami goes to Georgia Tech next week to maybe break this streak. The Noles will be an underdog, Miami might be slightly, and the Gators lost to the Gamecocks last year, so anything’s in play there. These three are not out of the woods yet.
