Please watch New Mexico State’s very good tee-fetching dog, Striking

Look at him go!

HELLO, HOW ARE YOU, PLEASE LOOK AT THIS ADORABLE TEE-FETCHING DOG WHO WORKS FOR NEW MEXICO STATE:

Phew, sorry for yelling, but this is just a very good dog who does his job extremely well. This shot of Striking was during the fourth quarter of New Mexico State’s game against Wyoming on Aug. 25, which was aired on ESPN.

Striking has been part of New Mexico’s football program since 2012, when he won NMSU’s wonder dog contest:

Striking the Wonder Dog, which he will be referred to as, is a four-year-old border collie. Stochaj and Striking are excited to carry on the Smoki the Wonder Dog tradition. Striking also does Rally Obedience and is a champion in dog agility. Further Striking is on the Mesilla Valley Search and Rescue team, as a wilderness search dog for the State of New Mexico.

”It’s a great honor and a tradition that should be carried on,” Stochaj said. “I hope that we can live up to Smoki and Joel’s great teamwork and dedication to the Aggies and the Aggie fans.”

New Mexico State had a tee-retrieving dog named Smoki for six years, but was without one when the border collie had to retire due to old age. The Aggies waited nearly a decade to replace Smoki with Striking. Here was Striking’s NMSU debut from six years ago:

NMSU isn’t the only football program with a tee-retrieving dog — Boise State’s dog Kohl has been with the program retrieving tees for three seasons.

Hopefully, this isn’t the last we see of Striking this season.
