Can Boise State build off of a school record set in their last game with a tough outing against Oklahoma State on Saturday?

Both teams are 2-0, and both teams put up at least 50 points in each of their first two games . Boise State downed Troy, 56-20, before obliterating Uconn, 62-7. The Cowboys took down Missouri State in their opener, 58-17, and then bested South Alabama, 55-13. These are two very confident ranked teams who can score big time.
Below is all you need to know going into Saturday’s game.

Boise State vs. Oklahoma State news
- After two very impressive wins, the Broncos jumped up both the Coaches Poll and AP Poll, to No. 17 on both.
- There aren’t any changes to Boise State’s depth chart this week, including Avery Williams still being listed as the primary returner despite him not handling those duties last time out.
- Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien was selected as the Mountain West Conference player of the week for his performance in Week 2.
- For the Cowboys, Week 2 was all about seeing if Taylor Cornelius could show up in a big way. He did that, at least according to the fans at Cowboys Ride For Free, though questions remain going forward:
Does He Have What It Takes To Help Lead OSU To A Win Over A Top 25 Team
I think this is important because it could show how OSU handles its quarterback situation later in the year. This is sort of rehashing a lot of things I’ve already mentioned, but can he survive in a pressure situation late in a game, can he play well enough to keep OSU in the game, things like that are important here. If he plays well and keeps OSU in the game late in to the fourth, the coaching staff will likely have confidence in trusting him to compete with teams like OU, West Virginia and TCU in November.
If he struggles most of the game, the coaching staff may start to look in to playing Dru Brown or Spencer Sanders to see if they might be better options for the late season slate. Cornelius doesn’t necessarily have to lead OSU to a win to have a successful day (because the defense, offensive line, game plan, etc can blow the game, its not like we blame Mason Rudolph for last years’ TCU loss) but he has to at least keep OSU in the game.
- Speaking of Cornelius, the folks at One Bronco Nation Under God pegged him as one of the players to watch out for in their preview of the game.
Boise State vs. Oklahoma State prediction
In the latest S&P+ rankings, Oklahoma Staet boasts a 23.0 number, while Boise State comes in at 27.4, meaning the latter would have a 4.4-point advantage on a neutral field. It’s not a neutral field, but the home-field gap isn’t big enough to make it a significant gain either way. This one’s very close, but I’m personally thinking Boise State will get it.
