In the fourth quarter of Virginia Tech’s game against Old Dominion on Saturday, Hokie sophomore QB Josh Jackson left the game with an apparent left foot injury. He was taken down on a rushing play, and it looked as if the tackle caused his foot to turn awkwardly as he was going to the ground.

He was taken to the locker room to receive X-Rays.

He was immediately taken into the locker room the get X-rays for the injury, and his back-up, redshirt junior Ryan Willis, entered the game for him in the fourth quarter. Shortly after leaving the game, Jackson was seen on the sidelines on crutches. Willis is a former Kansas transfer who played for two seasons with the Jayhawks in 2015 and 2016, starting in eight games during his true freshman year. He threw for a Kansas freshman record 1,719 yards with nine touchdowns three years ago before transferring out the following year.
As for Jackson, hopefully the injury isn’t season-altering, as he’s been the unit’s leader for the past two seasons. Last year, he threw for 2,991 yards and 20 touchdowns, along with six touchdowns on the ground.
