Your school president would never, tbh. During a Southeast Missouri State tailgate before the Redhawks’ home game against Southern Illinois on Sept. 15, school president Carlos Vargas-Aburto was seen on video chugging out of a beer funnel (aka, a beer pong, depending on where you went to school) like a pro:
Southeast Missouri State’s president chugged out of a beer funnel like a damn pro
Look at that form!

A few days after the video unsurprisingly went viral, Vargas-Aburto sent an email apologizing for his actions:
In an email sent to colleagues and students from the president’s office Friday, Vargas issued a statement detailing the incident, in which he was offered and accepted a drink of beer from a beer bong, a device normally associated with excessive or binge drinking, “which is conduct I do not condone.
“The above action projects an image that I am not proud of, is not flattering, and certainly not expected from the president of Southeast Missouri State University,” he wrote in the statement.
As president of Southeast, he continued, he has a responsibility “to show with words and deeds that I live by and uphold the values and principles that we work very hard to instill and strengthen in our university community, in particular, our students.”
OK look, obviously school presidents can’t technically do stuff like this, but you gotta appreciate Vargas-Aburto for joining in on the fun during a tailgate, and for absolutely crushing this beer bong.
