LSU is the hottest team in the nation after knocking off a pair of top-10 teams in its 4-0 start. But do the Tigers have a legitimate claim as the nation’s top team?
Ole Miss vs. LSU 2018 live stream: Time, TV channel, and prediction
The Rebels can stake their claim in the top 25 by upending the No. 5 Tigers.

Ed Orgeron’s team has already dispatched Miami and Auburn, but somehow what was only half the top 10 opponents on their slate so far. That’s the kind of schedule that can create a College Football Playoff favorite, but it also means LSU has no room for error when it comes to the rest of its schedule. That includes Saturday’s game against Ole Miss.
The Rebels will venture west to Louisiana with hopes of putting a 62-7 Week 3 thrashing at the hands of Alabama firmly in their rear view. With an opening weekend win over Texas Tech looking better and better, an upset in Death Valley could be the tentpole that props up Mississippi’s top 25 aspirations.

Ole Miss vs. LSU news:
- It was only against Louisiana Tech, but Devin White certainly looks like the next great LSU defender.
11. Devin White tackles. My mom called me up after the game to tell me that she made a concerted effort to watch No. 40 because I’ve been raving about him. She was rewarded with one of his best performances: 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 pass breakups, and a fumble recover. He was a video replay away from a touchdown, too. Enjoy Devin White while you can because he’s not going to be around long.
- LSU is due for a regression, but Ole Miss probably isn’t the team to make that happen.
- The Tigers haven’t taken their lesser games lightly. But what about a medium game like Ole Miss?
- Should Ole Miss football just make their entire uniforms powder blue? (Yes.)
Can LSU stop an explosive but inconsistent Ole Miss offense?
Mississippi is scoring more than 53 points per game in their wins, but was held to just seven points in a 55-point thrashing by Alabama. On Saturday, they’ll face an LSU defense that’s held opponents to fewer than 340 yards per game despite a meat grinder of an early schedule. The Tigers held Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham to fewer than 200 passing yards and forced him into a pair of interceptions two weeks ago — and now they get to face a high octane Rebel unit led by Jordan Ta’amu, who already has a pair of 400+ yard passing performances to his credit in 2018.
Ole Miss vs. LSU prediction:
LSU is on fire right now, but even the preseason S&P+ ratings liked the Tigers’ odds against Ole Miss. The numbers saw this as a six-point win for the home team back in August. It could be an even bigger margin after LSU dispatched Miami and Auburn in its 4-0 start.
