TCU-SMU had gross weather, so this kind of silliness was happening

It was a sloppy night in Dallas.

The wet field in Dallas for Friday night’s TCU-SMU game had an impact on things, folks.

In the first quarter, TCU punter Adam Nunez had the most unfortunate blooper. First, the snapped ball slipped out of his hands and went over his head. He picked it up and tried to punt again, but it slipped off his foot and rolled into the end zone:

The ball was recovered in the end zone which gave SMU a safety to make it 9-0. In the second quarter, TCU running back Sewo Olonilua fumbled the ball in the redzone, but it was luckily recovered by Jaelan Austin in the end zone for a Horned Frogs TD:

TCU fumbled again shortly before halftime on a snap that looked like it slipped out of the center’s hand:

And yeah, it stayed weird in the second half!

This game was delayed a whole two hours due to rain and lightning in the area. Some fans were having some fun in the wet conditions during the delay:

Per the ESPN2 broadcast, rain had been in the Dallas area since early Friday evening, and the turf field was visibly soaked.

TCU ended up getting its act together and winning, 42-12, to retain the delightful Iron Skillet.
