BC vs. BU final score: Terriers hold off Eagles’ rally to win, 4-2

Garrett Noonan, Evan Rodrigues and Matt Grzelcyk scored for Boston University as the Terriers ended a five-game home losing streak to archrival Boston College Friday night at Agganis Arena.

Noonan opened the scoring at 9:04 of the second period, and Rodrigues' goal exactly seven minutes later was answered by Pat Mullane for Boston College on the very next shift, but a wraparound goal by Grzelcyk (Boston Bruins) and an empty-netter by captain Wade Megan (Florida Panthers) rounded out the scoring for the Terriers. The loss ended Boston College's ten-game win streak, handing them their first loss since their season opener at Northeastern on Oct. 11.

BU ensured that the game would make good TV, putting two men in the penalty box during the final minute, but the Eagles were only able to convert once on the ensuing power plays as the Terriers registered their first win over a ranked conference opponent on the season.

Matt O’Connor stopped 35 shots to earn the win for the Terriers.

The two teams will play again Saturday night at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill.
