College Hockey schedule 2012: Top ranked Minnesota takes on Minnesota State

The Gophers and Mavericks will play a home and home next weekend to highlight the weekend’s college hockey schedule. Here’s a look at the rest of the action.

The top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers will take on in-state rivals Minnesota State this weekend in college hockey action. The Gophers haven’t lost since Nov. 30, and could add another ranked opponent to their trophy case against the 14th ranked Mavericks. The teams will play in Minneapolis on Friday night, and will travel down to Mankato for their Saturday night game.

In other action, fourth-ranked Quinnipiac will host UConn in a midweek matchup on Tuesday. Second=ranked Boston College will host a weekend set against Maine on Friday and Saturday, and third ranked New Hampshire will play a home and home against Merrimack. Fifth-ranked Notre Dame will host Ferris State on Friday and Saturday, and North Dakota will try to bounce back from a rough weekend against Minnesota when they host No. 19 St. Cloud State for two games in Grand Forks.
