The Providence Friars and the New Hampshire Wildcats both have one win in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinals. On Sunday

Stuart Franklin

New Hampshire and Providence will play the deciding game in their Hockey East Tournament Quarterfinal matchup, the only NCAA Hockey action available on Sunday.

New Hampshire picked up a 4-1 win on Saturday, bouncing back from a 3-2 loss to Providence that saw them squander numerous opportunities on offense. Matt Willow came through big for the Wildcats, picking up a hat trick in Saturday’s game and forcing Game 3. Kevin Goumas had the assist on all three of the goals, one of which was an empty-netter. Casey DeSmith also stepped up for New Hampshire, giving up only one goal on 16 shots, a power-play goal early in the second.

Providence, who made it to the semifinals of the 2012 tournament, will look to Nick Saracino to make the most of their second attempt to put New Hampshire Away. Saracino had a goal and an assist in Friday’s Providence win, and had Providence’s only goal on Saturday. The puck drops in the deciding game at 4:30 p.m. ET.
