Frozen Four 2013 schedule: College hockey champion to be crowned in Pittsburgh

The full schedule of events for Frozen Four 2013 weekend in Pittsburgh.

The 2013 Frozen Four kicks off on Thursday evening in Pittsburgh, with Quinnipiac, UMass-Lowell, St. Cloud State and Yale battling for college hockey supremacy at Consol Energy Center, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Here’s a full schedule of the events, from practice day Wednesday to the championship game on Saturday evening.

Wednesday, April 10

* Yale Bulldogs: Practice from 11 a.m. ET to 12 p.m.; News conference from 12:35 to 1:05 p.m.

* UMass-Lowell River Hawks: Practice 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.; News conference 1:50 to 2:20 p.m.

* St. Cloud State Huskies: Practice 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; News conference 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.

* Quinnipiac Bobcats: Practice 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.; News conference 4:20 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.

All practice sessions take place at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh and are open to the public. News conferences are not open to the public.

Thursday, April 11

* Frozen Fest: Games, merchandise sales, live entertainment provided by the NCAA. Everything is free (aside from, of course, the merchandise). Takes place outside Consol Energy Center from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Game 1: Yale Bulldogs vs. UMass-Lowell River Hawks

4:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN2 | Radio: Dial Global (check locally)

Game 2: St. Cloud State Huskies vs. Quinnipiac Bobcats

Friday, April 12

* News conferences: Game 1 winner takes podium from 12 p.m. to 12:30; Game 2 winner takes podium from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

* Practices (open to public): Game 1 winner on ice from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; Game 2 winner from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

* Autograph signing on Consol Energy Center concourse from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. National finalists and Hobey Hat Trick finalists Eric Hartzell (Quinnipiac), Johnny Gaudreau (Boston College) and Drew LeBlanc (St. Cloud State) will all participate.

* The Hockey Humanitarian Award will be handed out at 5:30 p.m.

* The ACHA Division 1 All-American Team will be unveiled at 5:45 p.m.

* The Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced at 6 p.m.

* Open skating sessions will be held between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on the Consol Energy Center ice. Sessions are 30 minutes long and free to the general public.

Saturday, April 13

* Frozen Fest again takes place outside Consol Energy Center from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
