With four games under their belt, India will now look to make a clean sweep of the ODI series against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. To rub salts into the English wounds, they barely have any time between the previous game and this one to get into the frame of mind needed to win the game.

India ran away easy victors in the fourth ODI in front of a sparse crowd at the Wankhede. That, in fact, has been the story of the series so far – England have managed the early honours in a few instances but largely, the games have belonged to India. The closest the opposition came to surprising the Indians was in the third game but even there, two, frontline Indian batsmen won the side the game.

In the fourth ODI, India were benefitted a great deal from England’s ineptitude batting against spin. After having conceded 15 off the first over of spin, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja bamboozled the opponents with 19 overs of stringent bowling that leaked only 64. They also got five wickets between them.

England will need to bat the way they had in the third ODI but they will also know that their problem this series has been the lack of co-ordination between the batsmen and the bowlers. Both have not clicked at the same time.

The visitors have resisted the temptation of playing Ian Bell so far but the biggest shock of the previous game was the selection of Scott Borthwick ahead of Graeme Swann. The slow conditions at Eden Gardens will help Swann and if the English side has to take anything away from the game, he needs to be slotted in.

India could look at giving Manoj Tiwary another go in place of the out-of-runs, Parthiv Patel, but even if they don’t make any changes to the side, it would be understandable. A 5-0 revenge beckons for them and they wouldn’t want to change a winning combination around.

India v England 5th ODI at Kolkata begins from 1430 hours local time on Tuesday.
