The Royal Challengers Bangalore v Somerset Champions League T20, 2011 match will be shown live on Star Cricket in India.
Previous Results:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will know that this is their last chance to make an impression. They have lost two in a row, to the Warriors and the Kolkata Knight Riders and another loss will push them out of the tournament. Somerset, on the other hand, qualified for the tournament by beating both, Auckland and Kolkata and then overcame Kolkata in the first game of the main draw. An abandoned game against South Australia followed.
Key Players:
Bangalore have been getting the runs. What they need is for the bowlers to get their act together after allowing the opponents to get away with chases of 170 on both the occasions. Dirk Nannes hasn’t been able to get too much assistance from the track and if he can get his lost mojo back, things could well be different.
For Somerset, the big news is the return of Jos Buttler in the middle-order and Craig Kieswetter at the top. They will pose a threat to the Bangalore bowling which has already been under pressure.
And they will miss...
The sense is that the Bangalore side is missing a good pace bowler, especially in the wake of Nannes’ lack of form. Abhimanyu Mithun and Sreenath Aravind would have probably been better on the slower tracks but at Bangalore, where the ball is coming on to the bat, things are looking a tad bleak for them.
Somerset have a strong side strung together and shouldn’t miss too much. Except the fact that they haven’t played a game in eight days, which will make it a tad difficult for them.
Prediction:
I feel that Bangalore needs to chase down the total instead of setting it. They will still be slight favourites going into the game.
