The Champions League T20 playoffs found its last two teams in Leicestershire and Somerset after the duo entered the final of the English Friends Life T20 tournament last week. Later, Leicestershire defeated Somerset to win the trophy.
Champions League T20 2011 Tickets, Qualifiers And Groups
The third edition of the Champions League T20 will be held between September 19 and October 9 and the tickets for the Champions League T20 have now been released.


Leicestershire and Somerset join four other sides, Kolkata Knight Riders from India, Ruhuna from Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago from the West Indies and the Auckland Aces from New Zealand in the Champions League T20 qualifying that will be held from September 19 to 21. The six teams are divided into two pools of three sides apiece and each team will get to play two games.
At the end of the six games, the top team from each pool and the best second-placed side will make it through to the main draw of the Champions League T20. These three sides will join seven others in the main tournament, to make it a 10-team Champions League T20.
Champions League T20 playoffs will have Ruhuna, Trinidad and Tobago and Leicestershire in one pool and Auckland, Kolkata and Somerset in the other pool.
In the main draw of the Champions League T20, the winner and the third placed side from the qualifiers will be placed along with Bangalore, Warriors and South Australia, while the second placed team will play Cobras, New South Wales, Chennai and Mumbai.
The tickets for the Champions League T20 2011 have also been released and they can be bought from the Indian ticketing website, bookmyshow.com. Champions League T20 tickets for matches at different grounds are priced differently. The Champions League T20 tickets for the qualifiers have a lowest denomination of Rs.150 while those for the main draw cost anywhere between Rs.250 and Rs.5000. The lower end Champions League T20 tickets are getting sold off pretty quickly.
The Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions of the Champions League T20 while New South Wales had won the tournament in its opening edition.
