Graeme Swann finishes off his spell of bowling with an excellent 16th over. Just when the Indians are looking to up the ante, he gives away only three runs, while the tourists will be happy to see Swann off his spell. Four overs for 28 and a wicket. Very good bowling given the carnage that has happened around.
England V India T20I Live: India Collapse to Set England 166 To Win
India: 132/5 after 16 overs
Bresnan begins another spell and it is another wide he bowls. He had started off the innings with a wide as well. He is now changing his pace, unlike the first spell where he was trying to bowl quick and intimidate with the raw pace. The pitch is a tad slower for his liking.
Raina, at the other end, clears his front foot away and brings all his IPL experience into his next two strokes – same shot, same direction and same result. Six huge runs. And again.
Dhoni slaps one to the covers for another couple to round the over off which cost 17 runs. Is this the over which changes the Indian fortunes?
India: 149/5 after 17 overs
Dernbach, who has an excellent slower delivery, starts bowling around the wicket to Raina and drifts down the leg-side. Hits the pads and four to the fine, fine-leg where the only players are those walking with the drinks in their hand beyond the fence.
Dhoni slaps another four over the vacant mid-wicket before falling to the slower ball that we have been talking about. Tried to slam another big one, the bat slipped out of his bat and a simple catch (which was juggled) by Alex Hales at long-on.
Raina becomes a crucial cog in the wheel now, but it is Ashwin on strike as the two stalwarts of the team, captain and vice-captain, Dhoni and Raina, did not cross over when that ball was in the air. Silly cricket but Ashwin hits the first ball he faces to the fence.
And then, he decides he has had enough and runs himself out in a lazy bit of cricket that matched Rohit Sharma’s wicket. David Lloyd on the air says that India has already got enough. Hmm, we shall see...
India: 162/7 after 18 overs
Bresnan gets Raina out first ball of his fourth ball and this could be a turning point of the game – 11 balls remaining and not too many batsmen to follow. Could have batted through those and got to 180. But as they say, if you live by the sword, you die by it as well.
Only two off the over, which will help Bresnan pull back his figures, ends with 33 off his four overs and a wicket. A crucial one, that of Raina at a very, very crucial time.
India: 164/8 after 19 overs
Last over of the innings, Shastri has declared that it is “all the makings of a cracking game”, in a style so reminiscent of...Shastri himself.
It is the stump that cracks though, with Praveen Kumar bowled off a slower one. Munaf Patel follows off the next one as India get bowled out for 165 in 19.4 overs.
Could well be a par score but at least 20 short of where the Indians would have wanted to be when they were 101 for one after 11 overs.
India: 165 all out after 19.4 overs
