England V India 2nd ODI Live Score And Updates: Dravid, Kohli Out As India Look To Accelerate

The Samit Patel experiment lasts only for one over, much like Bopara; Broad comes into the attack but is almost immediately greeted with a four over the cover. Broad wonders; short or full? Or out of the attack?

Broad sends down a wide off a slower one and follows it up with a bouncer; one for the over. Dravid, who hasn’t got too many balls to face more recently, gets on strike and strikes exactly like how Rahane had done to Broad - up and over extra-cover and to the fence. Wonder what is Broad going to say in the press conference today.

India 108/1 in 14 overs

Rahane is on 45, on his to his second half century in international cricket. He seemed to be struggling with his leg last over; can he overcome the cramps or whatever it is to bat through.

At the other end, Swann has finally got the better of Dravid; the batsman pull-swept it straight to the short mid-wicket where Anderson takes an excellent low catch. For a pace bowler, Anderson is clearly one of the better fielders around in the world. Dravid gone for 32, in what could well be his fourth-last ODI innings.

Virat Kohli comes in and a single and a brace results. Again, seeing Swann through for only five runs without too many risks taken. Eight overs remain and India would be looking to get to 180 at least!

India 113/2 in 15 overs

Cook brings on Bopara and Rahane’s late cut results in two. A half-century follows off the next ball; take a bow Ajinkya Rahane! He has shown that he has the strokes all around the wicket - a pull, extra-cover drive, late-cut and chip over the bowler.

The English bowlers are clearly struggling with the wetness of the ball but not allowing the Indians to get away with the really big overs. Only six off this 16th over from Bopara...

India 119/2 in 16 overs

Good over from Swann again, six off the first five balls turning the screws on the Indians and Kohli tries to go over the long-on fence. Bell, who had made a valiant effort only a minute ago to get Rahane out, gets a far simpler catch and Kohli is on his way. Swann gets his second.

India aren’t yet self-destructing like the T20I slog overs but only 17 from the last three overs!

India 125/2 in 17 overs

Tailor-made situation for Suresh Raina, who walks in to join Rahane. Dernbach comes into the attack as well, and again, no big shots there. I know it is five more overs to go after this, but the Indians have not batted too well in the slog overs - they struggled even in the World Cup.

And as I ended typing the above line, Raina smashes Dernbach over long-on for a six. Hmm, let’s try that again next over then!
