Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting slammed double centuries as Australia continued to dictate terms in the four-match Test series against India. By the time Ponting had gotten his 200, Australia had reached 475/4 in the second session of the second day, taking command of the Test match. The Indian bowling failed to show any teeth on distinctly placid pitch.
Australia V India Live: Clarke, Ponting Score Double-Centuries
Ponting and Clarke got to double-centuries as Australia got to 500 for the loss of four wickets on the second day of the fourth and the final Test match against India.

Australia had lost three wickets for 84 on the first day, but since that time the side did not lose a wicket for 386 further runs. By the time Clarke became the fourth batsman out, the Aussies had reached 470 and the captain had scored 210.
Ponting was batting on 214 as Michael Hussey joined him at the crease and according to latest reports, the Aussies had reached 500/4.
Australia lead the four-match series 4-0 and will be looking for their first whitewash against India since 2000. They had won the first match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after a decent fight from the visitors but the remaining two games were both won by an innings – with the Indian batsmen falling horrendously in both matches.
The Test series will be followed by two T20Is and a 12-match ODI series.
