Perth Scorchers V Sydney Sixers Live: Big Bash League Final
Perth Scorchers will host Sydney Sixers in the final of the Big Bash League on January 28.

Both teams richly deserve their finals place after Perth showed remarkable consistency throughout the tournament whereas the Sixers have come good towards the latter part of the tournament, as they have won five in a row to get here.
The Scorchers have so far been reliant on their top-order batting, to get them the runs before putting the pressure on their opponent with some excellent bowling through Brad Hogg and the rest of the quickies.
Incidentally, the 40-year old Hogg has been so good that he was selected back into the Australian national squad in their T20 line-up, four years after announcing his retirement from the game. His four overs will be crucial.
As will be Herschelle Gibbs’ batting. Gibbs has been the tournament’s second highest-scorer but more vitally, he has scored four half-centuries in his six times at the crease – and batted at a strike-rate of 150. He has been amply supported by Marcus North and Mitchell Marsh in their order.
On the other hand, the Sixers have gelled as a unit with only Nic Maddison being a standout batsman. Moises Henriques has been pushed to the top of the order but how he bats against spin will be an interesting proposition.
The good news for the Sixers could be the presence of Mitchell Starc, who was dropped from the national side after a decent performance at the WACA in Perth. He will lead the attack with Brett Lee while Steven Smith and Stuart MacGill will bowl in the middle of the innings.
The Big Bash League 2011-12 final will be played from 1700 hours local time on January 28.
