Injured Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said that he was looking to make it to the Test match squad for the third Test match against India. India is currently on a four-match tour of Australia and Watson’s calf-related issues have meant that he is not a part of the Australian squad.
Shane Watson Aiming For Third Test Match Comeback
Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said that he could get fit by the start of the third Test match between India and Australia.

The third match begins in Perth from January 13. India lost the Melbourne Test match and were bowled out for 191in the first innings of the Sydney Test match.
Watson has said that he should be fit to start running in a day or two while he said that he looked to start practicing in the nets this week. He also added that he will not be fit enough to bowl by the start of the third Test match but he will play as a pure batsman.
Australia is struggling with its start in this series and will be hoping for a quick return for their premier opening batsman. So far, both, Dave Warner and Ed Cowan have struggled to make it count in the series.
Watson said to the media, "It's been a bit of a slow process unfortunately. I'll start running tomorrow and build it up over the next week, and hopefully be fit and open to be picked as a batsman in Perth."
He added that it came down to his fitness and what the selectors thought of the injury.
Watson last played an international in November against South Africa. He is yet to bat in the nets in the last three weeks.
