IPL 2012 Auction: Jadeja, Jayawardene Big Buys For Franchises
Ravindra Jadeja and Mahela Jayawardene will be huge buys for the IPL franchises in the auction that will be held on February 4.

A total of 144 players will go under the hammer in the IPL auction this season but there is place for only around 25 players. This means that many of the players could home empty-handed but there is a good prize for those who will get selected.
One of the biggest buys in this auction could be Ravindra Jadeja, who is currently in Australia playing in the limited overs variety of the game. He can bowl his four overs of spin, bat in the middle-order and is an excellent fielder, making him an excellent buy for most franchises.
With the teams being allowed a purse of $2 million, there are rumours that there are a couple of teams who may want to spend the entire purse on him.
There are other players like Vinay Kumar, Parthiv Patel and VVS Laxman who will look to switch from the now defunct Kochi Tuskers as will Brendon McCullum of New Zealand and Muthiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka.
Another Sri Lankan, Mahela Jayawardene could get a call-up from the Pune Warriors, who will be without a captain because of Yuvraj Singh’s fitness issues. He may end up captaining the side if he gets selected there.
Andre Russell and Kevin O’Brien are two of the others tipped to get a look-in.
