West Indies On A High Going The Match At Kingston

Sunday’s win against Australia was West Indies’ first win in over five years, and the enormity of the achievement wasn’t lost on the prime minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, who declared Tuesday as a public holiday.
If Australia has to stop West Indies from taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, their batting will have to do more. So far in two matches nine batsmen have scored more than 20 runs in an innings but none of them have gone one to score a half-century. The bowling has done better and playing an extra bowler in for of spinner Nathan Lyon has helped but it has come at the cost of their batting.
West Indies will be happy to see that their most dangerous batsman has scored runs. Kieron Pollard’s 47 in the second match proved to be a match winning innings. Rest of the batting could draw some inspiration from him and would look to bat with application and purpose. Kemar Roach and Sunil Narine were the wicket takers in the second match and they will want to continue their good form in the third match.
West Indies if they win the game will be one victory away from winning their first one-day series against Australia since 1995.
