IPL: Bangalore Beat Rajasthan By 46 Runs

Tillakratne Dilshan and AB de Villers scored quickfire half-centuries to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 46 runs victory over Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday.
Set to chase a big target of 190, except for Dravid none of the batsmen got going. Bangalore’s KP Appanna, picked up the top 4 batsmen, which included the wickets of in-form batsmen, Rahane and Shah. Dravid played a steady knock at one end, hoping to find some support at the other. His knock of 58 off 42 balls, was never going to be enough without some big hitting at the other end. In middle overs unable to get the slow left-arm bowling of Vettori and Appanna away he too fell to become Appanna’s fourth wicket. Rajasthan from the onset never looked like they will chase the target and eventually fell short by a big margin.
Bangalore innings in no better fashion than Rajasthan’s and their final score hides their struggles in the early overs. After being put into bat by Rajasthan, Bangalore crawled to 67 for the loss of 3 wickets in the 12th over. It was de Villers who joined Dilshan, who provided the innings the much needed boost. AB de Villers immediately made an impact by scoring 15 runs off the first 3 balls he faced. The pair put 122 in only 8.2 overs, with de Villers scoring 59 off 23 balls and Dilshan 76 off 58 balls.
