The 2013 Tour de France will continue on Sunday with the second stage, as the field will have to cross the mountainous terrain of Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea just west of Italy. Beginning in Bastia, the field will travel 156 kilometers to Ajaccio.

The second stage of the Tour de France will feature some climbs for riders, including a peak nearly 1,200 meters above sea level.


Riders will have to top a few peaks during the second stage, including the Col de Vizzavona, nearly 1,200 meters high above sea level. Alexander Kristoff of Norway is the pick to win Stage 2 via Podium Cafe’s Chris Fontecchio.

Stage two is scheduled to begin at 7:40 a.m. ET, and can be watched live on NBC Sports Network beginning at 7:30 a.m. A rebroadcast of the event will be shown on NBC at 12:30 p.m.
