Tour de France 2013, Stage 14: Route, TV schedule and more

The Tour de France is heading toward the mountains.

Doug Pensinger

The 14th stage out of 21 in the 2013 Tour de France will get underway early Saturday morning, as teams enter rougher terrain than they have dealt with in recent stages.

Stage 14 is considered to be a hilly one, though it’s not a hard ride and avoids any serious mountains. Sprinters will be saving their energy during this stage, given the lack of flat land to cycle. That being said, there will be a short sprint just over 100 kilometers into the stage.

Chris Froome of SKY Procycling enters the day wearing the yellow jersey as the race’s overall leader, while Mark Cavendish enters Stage 14 fresh off a victory in Stage 13. SB Nation’s cycling blog, Podium Cafe, gave a prediction for the winner of the stage.

Peter Sagan: Either scenario you go for it’s hard to overlook him. He won’t go in the early break but barring the scenario where the peloton are happy to take a breather and let a break of no hopers win the day he is a massive favorite.

Live television coverage of the stage will begin at 8 a.m. Eastern time on NBC Sports Network.
