Chris Froome won Stage 17 at the Tour de France on Wednesday, extending his lead in the overall classification by 20 seconds. Froome won the 32km individual time trial with a time of 51 minutes, 33 seconds, nine seconds better than second-place Alberto Contador.

The Brit won his third stage of the 2013 Tour de France after taking home the victory in Wednesday’s time trial.


Contador boosted himself into second place in the overall classification, and Bauke Mollema fell from second to fourth after Stage 17. Roman Kreuziger jumped form fourth to third.
