Tour de France 2013, Stage 10: Route, TV schedule and more

The cycling hotbed of the Brittany region is the setting for Stage 10 of the Tour de France on Tuesday.

Doug Pensinger

The Tour de France exits the peaks of the Pyrenees and heads for the cycling-mad region of Brittany, with the 197-km Stage 10 ending in Saint-Malo on Tuesday.

Stage 10 begins in Saint-Gildas-des-Bois, where plenty of people will be lined up to watch the cyclists speed by. There is minimal elevation game compared to the past couple of stages in this area of France as the big peaks of Stage 9 have been replaced with constant rolling hills. It isn’t all just casual biking around here, though, as the stage has occasional steep terrain to remind you that not everyone can do the Tour de France.

As SB Nation’s cycling blog Podium Café points out, Stage 10 is the sort of stage that exemplifies the thrill of the Tour de France. The end of the stage will be a flat-out sprint to the finish line, and there is plenty of strategy to be had in the final 50 km. Cannondale seems best equipped to handle this stage, according to Podium Café, but Andre Greipel has the legs to pull off the victory in a stage where everyone has a chance to win.

The stage is set to begin at 6:50 a.m. ET, according to Steephill.tv. U.S. television coverage will begin at 8 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and online coverage will be provided by Tour de France Live (although it requires a fee).
