After a wet, bumpy ride through Stage 5 that saw defending champion Chris Froome knocked out of the race, the 2014 Tour de France gets a bit smoother in Stage 6. The ride will make a 194 kilometer run through the relatively flat land between Arras and Reims.

The riders trade out the bumpy route of Stage 5 for a smoother run in Stage 6.


Race leader Vincenzo Nibali enters the day with a slim two-second lead over Astan teammate Jakob Fuglsang, but has gained a significant lead over contender Alberto Contador, who lost almost three minutes on Wednesday.

The riders will scale two hills towards the finish, but the final 37 kilometers are relatively flat. Though the finale is flat, it is curvy -- there are no less than six roundabouts during the final six kilometers -- and should make for an exciting finish.
