Going into the fourth stage, there is a logjam behind Vincenzo Nibali.

The 2014 Tour de France is well underway, with three stages in the rearview mirror and Astana rider Vincenzo Nibali of Italy leading the pack by two seconds.

Stage 4 begins bright and early Tuesday morning, this time in France after finishing up the England portion of the race. The stage begins in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and concludes in Lille Metropole with 163.5 kilometers in between. The ride runs through a pair of Stage 4 climbs, including in Mont Noir and Cote de Campagnette.

Here’s a look at the climbs featured in the stage, including two category fours with a sprint in the middle.

Via Podium Cafe:

Um, yeah. I previously raised some question as to what that little lump upon which the intermediate sprint takes place is exactly, but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. Both of the rated climbs are pretty forgettable. Mont Noir, for example, has occurred in Gent-Wevelgem, which means it has failed to eliminate all that many sprinters over the years. 45km from the line, it won’t this year either.

This is the third time that Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is hosting a stage in the Tour de France. The coastal city will be the beginning of a grueling day which will end with a reprieve. The final 45 kilometers are without a climb, lending itself to a sprint.

Behind Nibali are Peter Sagan, Michael Albasini, Greg Van Avermaet and Chris Froome, who round out the top five. All are two seconds off of the lead.
