ARLINGTON, Texas -- Stephenville (Texas) dual-threat quarterback Jarrett Stidham was among the standouts at the Dallas Elite 11 camp on Sunday at AT&T Stadium, earning an invite to the Elite 11 Finals in Oregon this summer. He will also participate in The Opening as a result of his Elite 11 invitation.

There are now eight quarterbacks invited to the finals and 104 prospects invited to The Opening.

A consensus four-star prospect committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the 6'4, 190-pounder was impressive during the Pressure Chamber that simulates an end-of-game situation and consistently performed well on the day.

The other quarterbacks who participated in the Pressure Chamber included Kyler Murray, Ross Trail, Chason Virgil, Dominic DeLira, and LG Williams.

The athleticism of Stidham that helped him excel at wide receiver as a sophomore at Stephenville was apparent in a drill that focused on avoiding pressure and throwing on the run.

Stidham was also effective with his deep ball and generally excelled in every drill, throwing darts on outside breaking timing routes while responding well to the adversity created by Elite 11 coach Trent Dilfer when the ESPN analyst tried to distract the participants to test their concentration.

And his arm strength was also consistently on display.

The invitation extended to Stidham means that the Red Raiders will have a quarterback participating in the finals for the second time in three years -- possible 2014 starter Davis Webb went to the finals in California in 2012.
