Liverpool's injury problems continue to pile up with the news today that striker Fabio Borini has broken a bone in his foot. Borini had just recovered from an ankle injury and picked up this latest injury while training with the Italian national team ahead of World Cup qualifiers.

The Italian FA has informed Liverpool that Fabio Borini has broken a bone in his foot. Their striker shortage has become a crisis.

Having sent Andy Carroll on a season long loan to West Ham, the Reds were already short on strikers. At this moment Brendan Rodgers is left with only on one striker, Luis Suárez, with any significant experience. The remaining forwards are young players like Daniel Pachecho, Samed Yeşil, Jerome Sinclair and Adam Morgan. Basically, they have a legitimate crisis.
At this point, Liverpool can only hope it’s not a serious break and that Borini can recover quickly. Realistically, it looks as if Rodgers will be left with a single proven forward until January, assuming ownership open up the wallet for him to add reinforcements.
