Injury was added to insult for West Ham when they not only lost a late lead against Liverpool on Sunday, but lost Mohamed Diame to an apparent hamstring injury. The Senegal midfielder pulled up in the 73rd minute and fell down, clutching his leg while wincing in pain -- he was carried on a stretcher off the field shortly afterward.

West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame could miss up to three months of action after tearing his hamstring against Liverpool on Sunday.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce did not seem optimistic following the game, mentioning that he expected the injury could sideline Diame for as long as three months. He could miss up to 10 Premier League matches as well as an FA Cup tie against Manchester United if the injury is as bad as Big Sam expects.
“We will wait until it has settled down and then scan it, we will find out exactly how big the damage is and move on from there,” he said following the game.
Diame has scored two goals in 15 appearances for the Hammers this season. West Ham is currently 11th in the table following its loss to the Reds.
