Southampton vs. Everton: Final Score 1-3, Nikica Jelavic superb

Nikica Jelavic and co. were fantastic going forward for Everton, as they earned an impressive comeback win over Southampton.

Southampton netted an early goal to put Everton under pressure, but the Toffees were far superior from that point on. They continued their impressive early season run with a 3-1 road victory over the Saints at St. Mary's.

Gaston Ramirez scored just seven minutes in, showing off exactly why Southampton spent so much money on him. On a corner by Rickie Lambert, he rose up and hit a great header into the back of the net. Tim Howard was a bit out of position and should have got a hand on it, but there's no taking away from Ramirez's finish.

Unfortunately for Southampton, it was all Everton from then until halftime. Leon Osman scored in the 26th minute, finishing off a Kevin Mirallas cross that Southampton failed to clear, and that goal caused the floodgates to open. Nikica Jelavic scored Everton's second in the 32nd minute, finishing off a great passing move started by Marouane Fellaini. He completed a brace six minutes later, heading in a cross by Seamus Coleman to finish off the scoring.

The second half was largely uneventful, with Everton remaining comfortably on top as they protected their two-goal lead easily.

It was previously reported that Spieth, Thomas and Fowler all went in on Leeds United. That does not appear to be entirely the case.
