After Manchester United scores two goals in the opening ten minutes of the match, we've now gone 20 minutes without a goal.
Manchester United vs. Chelsea, 2013 FA Cup: We’ve made it 20 minutes without a goal
COME ON YOU SLACKERS.
To the Blues’ credit, they haven’t quit on the game and have managed to get some pressure on the United defense after the horrible start.
Easily their best chance of the game up to this point came in the 22nd minute when Frank Lampard got free in between two United defenders at the top of the box and re-directed an excellent short pass from Juan Mata right at David de Gea.
United weren't sitting back either though and came close again in the 23rd minute. Nani's low cross in from the right found Chicharito making a run at the post. The Mexican striker had position but couldn't get his shot on target, sending the ball well wide of Petr Cech's goal.
With 15 minutes to play until halftime it's clear that Chelsea are going to need their midfield to both hold on to the ball more and give time for Demba Ba to actually set-up and attack. As it is, United are taking Chelsea's lone striker out of the game and when he does get the ball, he's being forced to take fairly pedestrian shots from distance.
