With Anthony Davis having missed now six straight games, and possibly out for another week or two, fantasy owners are wondering what they should do with the super rookie. Is it time to trade him? Or, conversely, is it time to trade for him?

Let’s look at the numbers, first.
Davis is averaging 16 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.5 blocks, while shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line.
In fact, in 9-category leagues, Davis is ranked 13th overall, in terms of average stats. Pretty incredible for a rookie.
The question is, now, with a seemingly fragile Davis, having missed eight of the first 14 games this season, is it worth dealing him for a safer option?
I think the way to look at it is, what’s the end game in dealing Davis and where’s the upgrade?
If you're not chasing blocks, and maybe if you have a team that's top-heavy in that particular category, sure, dealing Davis makes some sense. If you do need blocks -- or, healthy blocks, if I may -- to me, you can upgrade in getting someone like Serge Ibaka, who doesn't have the scoring chops that Davis does, but he can give you more stable defensive numbers, while having missed zero games throughout his young career.
On the flip-side, with an injured Davis, it might be tough to convince an Ibaka-owner to make a deal, in which you'll likely get a less favorable counter-offer. Like, oh, maybe getting a return offer for someone like Carlos Boozer? To which you immediately deny and move on to another trade partner.
It’s impossible to speculate what your league-mates are willing to do on the trade market, but I think the lesson here is while I get many, many questions asking what you should do about Davis, my advice is to consider a “sell high,” but don’t sell for the sake of selling. It’s one of those situations.
Davis is a top talent, and it's not as if we're already looking at the next Stephen Curry here (Doritos ankles?), but the concern is reasonable.
If you’re looking to deal Davis, ask for a top-15 player -- why not, right? -- and if someone comes looking for Davis, from you, don’t settle for anything less than an upgrade.
