Coming into the season, QB Jay Cutler was primed for a big year due to Mike Martz coming in to run the offense. Big things were supposed to be in store for the quarterback with the new, pass-heavy offense installed.
Fantasy Football Week 7: Jay Cutler Likes To Turn The Ball Over, A Lot
Things haven’t worked out like they were supposed to.
Today, Cutler threw four interceptions, and also fumbled once as well. His numbers were not good, as he completed 26 of 40 passes for 281 yards and only one touchdown. The Bears had 14 passing first downs, yet they scored only 14 points, but seven of which were defensive off an interception return.
Cutler made some errant passes today, often throwing at receivers' feet or behind them also. It does not help that Bears field one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, and he was facing a lot of pressure all day. However, Redskins do not force many sacks, and Cutler should have done better in the pocket.
Five turnovers and one offensive touchdown doesn’t cut it, and the Redskins benefited greatly en route to a 17-14 victory.
