Deion Branch Fantasy Update: Patriots WR Had One Big Catch, But No Touchdowns In Win

Deion Branch isn't the biggest name in the New England Patriots passing game, but that doesn't mean the diminutive wide receiver isn't able to put up fantasy statistics. In fact, in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, Branch caught three passes for 69 yards.

The majority of Branch's passing yards came to start the second quarter when Tom Brady connected with his wide receiver for a 45-yard gain to convert on a third-and-nine attempt. Brady then connected with Branch for a 12-yard gain two plays later, but he had just one more catch the rest of the game and was held out of the endzone as Brady found Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez instead.

Branch was averaging 60 receiving yards a game with 300 receiving yards on the season and two touchdowns through his first five weeks of the 2011 NFL season. Branch’s receiving yards per game is up nearly 5 yards per game.

Branch was ranked by Yahoo! as the 22nd ranked wide receiver heading into Week 6 taking on the Dallas Cowboys who rank 14th against the pass.
