The Peyton Hillis saga in Cleveland has taken another odd twist. On Sunday, Hillis left the Browns game against Oakland with a hamstring injury and will reportedly undergo an MRI on Monday. What is so bizarre about it is the fact that Hillis actually returned to the game briefly in the fourth quarter. There was some speculation that it was a coaches' decision to remove Hillis, but given contract situation, who really knows what is going on there.
Peyton Hillis Injury Update: Browns RB Reportedly Suffers Hamstring Injury
Montario Hardesty came on in place of Hillis and would be the feature back if Hillis has to miss any time with this injury. Hardesty ended the game with 11 carries for 35 yards and two catches for 18 yards. The Browns offense is in a bit of a rut, but he is going to get some carries if Hillis misses some time. We'll have an update once Hillis gets his MRI since that will impact potential waiver wire pickups. Of course, given the Hillis situation in Cleveland, even if the MRI comes back fine, Hardesty is probably a wise pick-up if you have Hillis.
