Fred Davis Fantasy Recap: Redskins Tight End Continues Breakout Season

Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis continued what has been a bit of a breakout season for him in 2011. Davis led the Redskins in receiving in their 20-13 loss to the Eagles as he hauled in 95 yards on six receptions. Davis had emerged past Chris Cooley this season and received a further boost thanks to Cooley's broken finger this week. Davis has had a couple down weeks, but has shown enough to warrant a continued starting role if you don't have one of the big name tight ends.

As the Redskins look ahead to week seven, Davis could find himself in line for another huge day as Washington travels to Carolina to take on the Panthers. While the Panthers have been highly entertaining in 2011, they also have struggled in several facets of defense. I would expect Davis to continue as the team's leading receiver and put together another solid game.
