Earnest Graham Injury Update: Reported Torn Achilles Tendon Would End Season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back situation is growing more and more murky by the week, as injuries are piling up. Following LeGarrette Blount's knee injury, Earnest Graham has now gone down with what is being reported as a torn Achilles Tendon. Graham dropped virtually untouched, which is one sign of this kind of injury.

The Bucs gave Kregg Lumpkin the carries the rest of the way and he finished with eight rushes for 15 yards. The Bucs have no backups after Lumpkin at this point and will likely bring in some running backs to work out. The good news for Tampa Bay is that LeGarrette Blount was already targeting a week nine return following their bye. Losing Graham hurts no matter the circumstances given his pass catching abilities, but getting Blount back would certainly blunt the impact of that injury to some extent (pun only partially intended).

For now, the Bucs will head back home from London after a disheartening 24-18 loss and take some time to regroup during their bye week. We likely won’t get an update on Blount until after the bye.
