Fantasy Football Week 8 Kicker Projections: Vets Dominate Top Spots

Yesterday, we turned the computer loose on fantasy football projections for Week 8. Now, we let the fantasy gurus have their say. SB Nation partner, playthisguy.com, has surveyed 15 sources of fantasy football advice and compiled a Top 10 list of fantasy projections for the kicker position.

In our earlier report, the computer had David Akers ranked as the top kicker, but that information has been updated and Akers is now fourth. But the fantasy experts still like him enough to rank him second. The top pick this week is John Kasay. The top four kickers are grizzled vets, but number five, Dan Bailey, is a fresh-faced rookie who is doing outstanding work for the Cowboys. Looks like people are expecting points to be scored in the Eagles and Cowboys game, as Eagles kicker Alex Henery also makes the rankings at ninth.

Week 8 Consensus Rankings

1. John Kasay (CAR vs. MIN)
2. David Akers (SF vs. CLE)
3. Neil Rackers (HOU vs. JAX)
4. Jason Hanson (DET @ DEN)
5. Dan Bailey (DAL @ PHI)
6. Stephen Gostkowski (NE @ PIT)
7. Billy Cundiff (BAL vs. ARI)
8. Nick Novak (SD @ KC)
9. Alex Henery (PHI vs. DAL)
10. Rian Lindell (BUF vs. WAS)
