Hakeem Nicks Injury Update: Giants WR To Undergo Monday MRI On Hamstring

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks hauled in 67 receiving yards Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, but had to depart the game late in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring strain. Reports indicate he will have an MRI on the hamstring to determine the extent of the injury. He will also have x-rays taken of the injury.

Nicks has had a solid season thus far with 32 receptions for 508 yards and three touchdowns. A hamstring injury is always dicey when you are talking about wide receivers who rely on those legs to get down the field. It would not be surprising to see Nicks limited or a DNP in practice for part of the upcoming week as the Giants prepare for a trip to the New England Patriots.

This is a money matchup for Nicks as the Patriots secondary has been awful this season. The Giants have some solid matchups the rest of the way, but barring some drastic change in performance, the Patriots defense might be the best matchup Nicks faces all season. Let’s hope he is good to go for the game. We will have updates throughout the week as more information comes available.
