Ryan Grant Injury Update: Packers RB Returns To Practice Wednesday

Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant missed last Sunday's contest against the Denver Broncos due to a bruised kidney suffered in the Packers victory over Chicago. It appears to only be a one week injury as Grant returned to practice on Wednesday.

In Grant’s place, James Starks rushed for 63 yards on 13 carries. He also grabbed five receptions for 38 yards. The Packers have been going with a bit of a hot-hand committee in the backfield. It has dominated for the Packers but made things a little more difficult for fantasy owners. The first two weeks James Starks put up the better numbers. Week three Starks more or less fell off the earth finishing with 11 rushes for 5 yards while Ryan Grant put up 92 yards on 17 carries.

For many weeks it really is going to be a craps shoot with that platoon. I think Ryan Grant is the guy they would like to make a bit of the work-horse but it’s hard to tell for certain how it will go week-to-week. I think this week we could see Starks getting more of the load given Grant’s off-week. But honestly, I think you have to go with your gut with either of the two running backs.
