Danny Woodhead Status Update: Patriots Running Back Unlikely To Play

New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead is listed as doubtful on the injury report with an ankle injury and is not expected to play against the New York Jets. Woodhead missed all three practices this week with the ankle injury. The extent of Woodhead's injury is unknown, but the fact that he did not practice at all all week seems to indicate it's possibly more than just a simple sprain.

In Woodhead's absence last week, back up Stevan Ridley got significantly more playing time. Ridley ended the day with 10 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown. In the Patriots offense, the running back isn't typically featured, but Ridley looks to get increased touches with the absence of Woodhead in the line up. In the last two games, Ridley has 139 yards on 16 carries.
