Jeremy Shockey Fantasy Status Update

Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey was limited in practice this week, but appears set to play on Sunday barring any unexpected setbacks. Shockey suffered a concussion and aggravated his broken finger in week four, leaving him questionable earlier in the week. He had to pass a battery of concussion tests and also receive an independent clearance, and it appears he has done so.

Shockey and the Panthers face the New Orleans Saints this week in a game that could see a decent amount of passing yards. While Shockey has had big numbers in the past, at this point he seems to have fallen behind Greg Olsen on the Carolina depth chart. He'll get a few looks here and there, but for the most part, Shockey's days as a viable fantasy option are behind him. He could get some value again if Olsen goes down, but otherwise he is not much of a fantasy option at this point.
