Fantasy Football Week 11 Advice: Sit/Start Projections For Defense/Special Teams

The NFL continues week eleven of the 2011 season following Thursday's wild finish between the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. Tim Tebow finished with a solid 16+ point effort, but he was actually outscored in fantasy by a Broncos defense that sacked Mark Sanchez three times, recovered a fumble and ran back an interception for a touchdown.

Week 11 features four teams on bye, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers and Texans have been very solid defenses and will be missed by their owners. As fantasy football playoffs get closer, teams are looking for sleeper options this week to fill the void of missing the Steelers and Texans.

In picking a fantasy defense, there are a variety of factors including simply how you think a team matches up against its opponent. It is hard to predict turnovers, but you can look at a team’s pass rush and general defensive ability to try and figure out sacks and points allowed.

The Seattle Seahawks face a struggling St. Louis Rams team that has not scored a ton of points this year. The Seahawks are a solid option. On the other hand, the Seahawks offense has been incredibly up and down, so realistically you could with the Rams defense as well. This kind of decision would be where you consider who you think will win the game to make a potential tie-breaker.

Here are the top 15 quarterback projections for today. You can view all the projections at numberFire.com. For more on fantasy football, check out Fake Teams. Follow us on twitter @sbnationfantasy.
