Ray Lewis Injury Update: Ravens LB Will Not Play, According To Text Sent To Warren Sapp

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis told NFL analyst Warren Sapp via text message that he will not play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals:

Warren Sapp, aka @QBKILLA, reports he got a text from Ray Lewis indicating the Ravens LB would not play today. More ahead on GameDay Morning

Lewis is suffering from a toe injury that kept him out of practice this week. The Ravens have a short week this week, hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving. Perhaps keeping Lewis out of this game will allow him to heal in time for Thursday.

Known for his toughness, Lewis has 68 tackles - 49 of them solo - this season with two sacks. The Ravens will miss the captain of their team and key to their defense against the rival Bengals, who, like the Ravens, enter the game at 6-3. The winning team will take control of the tight AFC North.
