Peyton Hillis Aggravates Hamstring; Questionable For Sunday

Cleveland Browns running back and Madden '12 cover player Peyton Hillis' season to forget took another wrong turn on Friday, with the fourth-year player aggravating his left hamstring injury during practice.

According to multiple reports, Hillis aggravated the hamstring after taking a hand-off during Friday's practice, throwing the football and his helmet in frustration before exiting the field with a trainer. Hillis not expected to play on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Hillis, who has missed the last two weeks with the hamstring and who Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports was subjected to an intervention by his fed-up teammates, is listed as “Questionable” on the Browns’ injury report. Browns head coach Pat Shurmur discussed Hillis’ situation after Friday’s practice.

“Well I’d ask you to think about what he thinks. It’s a game where you have injuries, you deal with them, you try to fight back from them and that’s what we all try to do,” said Shurmur. “At this point though, unfortunately, if he’s not ready to go we just move on and I think that’s the mindset at any position. I’m sure if he can’t play this week then I’m sure he’ll be frustrated by that, but the key is to do everything in his power to get healthy so he can play.”

With Montario Hardesty ruled out, the Browns will be relying on Chris Ogbonnaya and the newly-signed Thomas Clayton to handle the workload in the ground game.
