Fred Davis Questionable With Ankle Injury

Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis is listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers with an ankle injury.

Davis missed Wednesday’s practice before being limited on Thursday and Friday.

With tight end Chris Cooley out with a season-ending knee injury, the 2008 second-round pick out of USC has emerged as the Redskins' leading receiving in 2011, hauling in 36 passes for 517 yards and two touchdowns this season. Davis has 20 receptions for 269 yards over the last three weeks.

Davis had just 72 receptions for 852 yards and nine touchdowns in 43 career games entering 2011 and is on pace to double his receptions and receiving yardage production this season, the last year of his rookie contract.

On Friday, Davis was hopeful that he’d be able to play against the 49ers.

”It bothered me a little bit, but every day it got better,” Davis said according to Rick Maese of The Washington Post.
