Mark Ingram Ruled Out With Heel Injury

New Orleans Saints first-round running back Mark Ingram will miss a second straight game with a heel injury.

The Saints traded back into the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft to select the former Heisman Trophy winner who currently leads the club with 85 carries for 329 yards with three touchdowns on the ground.

New Orleans is well-stocked at the running back position, with 2010 leading rusher Chris Ivory on the roster and the club-resigning Pierre Thomas to a contract extension before drafting Ingram. Once the free agent signing period began after the lockout ended, the Saints signed Darren Sproles to a four-year, $14 million contract. Sproles currently leads the NFL in combined yards with 1,331, 694 of which are comprised of rushing (305) and receiving (389) yardage.

Without Ingram last week, the Saints' three-headed monster of Sproles, Thomas and Ivory combining for 19 carries and 57 yards with a touchdown run by Thomas in the 31-21 loss to the Rams.
