Fantasy Injury Update: Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Hakeem Nicks All Sit Out Practice

One of the more pertinent fantasy football stories this week surrounds injury updates with some of the big name wide receivers in the league. Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant and Hakeem Nicks all put up impressive numbers in week one but also got banged up to a certain extent.

Johnson tweaked his ankle, Bryant has a bruise and cramps in his quad and Nicks bruised/hyperextended his knee and it has cost all three practice time this week. All three have sat out both Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions, but to a certain extent all three are guys that could play even with extremely limited practice time.

Calvin Johnson seems to be the most likely to play as he finished the Lions game on Sunday and seems more to just be taking precautions. The injuries to Dez Bryant and Hakeem Nicks seem a bit more concerning to their respective coaching staffs. Nicks gets an extra day to prepare for Monday Night Football, which is likely enough time to heal up. Bryant is the only one who missed significant time during the game, so he is probably lowest on the confidence list. The key will be what their coaches have to say later tomorrow when the final injury reports are starting to come out.

We’ll have updates on all three tomorrow and possibly Saturday if anything changes.
